Projects in Cambodia

Our resource center will run 5 major community empowerment programs in Cambodia:

LEARNING FOR LIFE
The resource center will provide children from poor families with scholarships to attend school. The center will also run programs to further supplement children's education, including English classes, Math classes, arts and crafts projects, and homework help. In addition, the resource center will provide young women with skills/vocational training and adult education classes (Business Management, Woman Empowerment, Health, etc).

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
We aim to provide vulnerable women with income-generating opportunities through our social enterprises. The resource center will run social and skills training courses, and provide recreational and therapeutic activities.

MEDICAL PROJECT
We will work with other organizations and overseas Vietnamese medical societies to facilitate medical missions. The missions will provide children with medical check-ups and basic healthcare. The first medical mission will occur in conjunction with an organization called HOPE.

LEGAL EDUCATION & PROTECTION
The resource center will ensure dissemination of relevant laws to local authorities, councils, village chiefs and communities. Such documents will be made available in Khmer and in Vietnamese. The resource center will work with local NGOs to help clients access free legal services, assistance and representation.

SOCIAL & COMMUNITY PROJECT
To encourage a stronger sense of communal relations and bring people together as a community, the resource center will organize communal activities such as soccer competitions, movie nights, dance classes, camping expeditions, and so forth. We will also organize yearly ‘culture shows’/concerts for the surrounding Vietnamese communities in Cambodia.
