The situation for Vietnamese living in urban Cambodia with respect to trafficking and sexual exploitation is dire. As undocumented individuals, they live with the constant threat of forced evictions, denial of access to healthcare and schooling and are targets of extraordinary bribes. Being undocumented therefore exacerbates their vulnerability to trafficking.

While there are services available to aid victims of trafficking in Cambodia, these are not always well-equipped to accommodate the Vietnamese. It is for these reasons that a voice is needed in Cambodia.
